Excellent. We're not able to turn away people without experience, but it sure as hell helps when they have some in the first place.

Not that we get to do much flying; our fuel supplies are too low for that. Most of what we do is try to get the shuttles actually working.

I spend a decent amount of time helping our mechanic keep the ship flying anyway.

On average, we're able to fully repair one shuttle every two Earth months. Parts are limited and we're scrapping shuttles that are too damaged to repair as a result. It also means anyone who comes down here and might start breaking things is someone we want to get the fuck out of here.

[ Sigh. ] Maintenance is more than required -- and not just the usual. We've got new damage after every jump.
