If you're willing to learn how to fly, fix the shuttles, will follow the rules, and generally not be an idiot, sure.

The shuttles are all different than anything the rest of us have dealt with before. Similar enough in certain ways to each of the shuttles we're all used to from our own worlds, but different. You'd still have to learn.
